Post-Doc, Cognitive Science
About
I recently moved to the University of Osnabrück (Germany) to assume a DAAD-funded Postdoctoral research position at the Institute for Cognitive Science. My research addresses philosophical questions about scientific explanation (especially mechanistic explanation), embodied/embedded cognition, the extended mind, mental representation, complexity, simulation and artificial life.
Before coming to Osnabrück I completed a PhD in Cognitive Science at Indiana University. My dissertation sought to understand explanatory practices in cognitive scientific research, with a particular emphasis on the nature and role of mechanistic explanation in dynamical approaches to cognitive science, evolutionary robotics, and systems neuroscience.
